Thailand has some of the best beaches in the world and it brings millions of people to Thailand each year (over 15 million tourists in year 2014). It might be difficult if you want to to get away from the crowds, but you can still find quiet, unspoilt beaches on which to relax and enjoy the nature. 🙂
Here are my Top 4 of Thailand’s Best Unspoilt Islands:
1. Koh Lipe, Satun provice เกาะหลีเป๊ะ จ.สตูล
2. Koh Surin, Pang Nga province เกาะสุรินทร์ จ.พังงา
3. Koh Ngai, Krabi province เกาะไหง จ.กระบี่
4. Koh Tao, Surat Thani province เกาะเต่า จ.สุราษฎร์ธานี
Now I share my secrets with you, please help preserve and protect these beautiful places when you visit. Kindly not feed the fish in the sea and put the garbage in the bin. Kop kun maak ka:)
Where is your best island escapes in Thailand? 🙂
Greg says
These ALL look beautiful!!
Is there a beach in Thailand that is quiet, uncrowded, pristine, but still has some very nice hotels or resorts where you can stay?
Mod says
Yes, there are for example เกาะกูด Koh Kood (Kood island) in Trat province in Thailand’s southeastern corner.
Greg says
Thank you Mod! I will research that island then.
Your website is the BEST!! If you and Pear ever decide to visit eastern Canada (Toronto or Montreal area), you have a friend here. 🙂
Mod says
Pear and I have been to the US, but we haven’t had a chance to visit Canada. My close friend is in Quebec and I’ve been wanting to visit her there. Toronto is also in my list. 🙂

I think Koh Samet is the most beautiful island I visited in Thailand. No cars is allowed on the island. The hotels have their own private beaches, which are quite small but very peaceful and relaxing.
Mod says
I love Koh Samet too! Which beach is your favourite?
Delson says
I visited Koh Lipe during Chinese New Year in 2016. It was jam packed with tourist from all over the world. I can hardly walk without bumping into people on the walking street. Nevertheless, it is still the most pristine Island I have visited in Thailand.
Mod says
I’m sorry to hear that the island was not peaceful as you expected. Usually everywhere in Thailand is full of tourists on public holidays. I try to go on holiday when everyone else is not going. 🙂
Tom says
I agree with the first 3, but Koh Tao is spoilt. There’s a lot of tourists there, and a couple of nasty murders happened there as well. There’s no chance I’d go there after those happened.
Steve Harvey says
Just came back from Koh Tao, people were very friendly, not too busy, no feeling of being unsafe, unfortunately murder can happen anywhere in the world, so rare here. Had a wonderful time. Defiantly will be returning.
