There are two important things you need to focus on in order to get your Thai pronunciation correctly and clearly;
- Tones
- Vowel sounds
In this lesson teacher Pear show you 12 Thai similar sounding words that often confuse you. Here are the list of those words:
- เคย /keoi/ ever – คุย /kui/ talk
- ผัก /pàk/ vegetable – พัก /pák/ rest, stay
- ระวัง /rá-wang/ be careful – ระหว่าง /rà-wàang/ between
- อยาก /yàak/ want to – ยาก /yâak/ difficult
- ทำ /tam/ – ถาม /tăam/ to ask a question
- ข้างหลัง /kâang-lăng/ – ข้างล่าง /kâang lâang/

Just a quick thanks to Kruu Mot & Kruu Pear. I have learnt a lot from your short videos over the years. While my Thai is still not 100 percent fluent it’s still very good now and I still learn something new nearly every day.
My girlfriend doesn’t speak much English. We’ve been together for nearly 8 months now and we never speak English. We talk about everything together and our relationship is 100 percent in Thai.
Thanks again and keep up the good work
Regards
Steve

I made a video on similar tone sounds here, although it was made many years ago it is still useful: https://learnthaiwithmod.com/2013/10/learn-thai-different-tone-different-meaning/
