The word สุขสันต์ /sùk-săn/ is used for gerrtings in any special occasions.
The pattern is สุขสันต์ /sùk-săn/ + the occasion
Happy New Year in Thai is สุขสันต์วันปีใหม่ /sùk-săn wan bpee mài/
Merry Christmas in Thai is สุขสันต์วันคริสมาสต์ / sùk-săn wan crít-mâs/
Happy Birthday in Thai is สุขสันต์วันเกิด /sùk-săn wan-gèrd/
Happy Songkran Day in Thai is สุขสันต์วันสงกรานต์ /sùk-săn wan sŏng-graan/
Happy Loy Krathong Day in Thai is สุขสันต์วันลอยกระทง /sùk-săn wan loi grà-tong/
To give wishes in Thai, we use the pattern ขอให้ kăw hâi + wishes
The common wishes Thai people like to give to others are as followings;
- ขอให้มีความสุข /kăw hâi mee kwaam-sùk/
I wish you happiness.
- ขอให้สุขภาพแข็งแรง /kăw hâi sùk-kà-pâab kăeng-raeng/
I wish you health.
- ขอให้รวย /kăw hâi ruai/
I wish you wealth.
- ขอให้มีแฟนสวย /kăw hâi mee faen sŭai/
I wish you have a beautiful girlfriend.
- ขอให้มีแฟนหล่อ /kăw hâi mee faen làw/
I wish you have a handsome boyfriend.
- ขอให้ประสบความสำเร็จในหน้าที่การงาน /kăw hâi bprà-sòp kwaam săm-rèt nai nâa-tîi gaan-ngaan/
I wish you success in your career.
- ขอให้ลูกเป็นเด็กดี /kăw hâi lûuk bpen dèk dii/
May your kids be good
- คิดอะไรก็ขอให้สมปรารถนา /kít à-rai gâw kăw hâi sŏm bpràat-tà-năa/
May all your wishes come true.
