In this lesson, teacher Pear is teaching you a useful Thai grammar – Thai continual sentences or “if clauses”. It is simple and straight forward, you only need to know this structure:
ถ้า /tâa/ (if) + sentence 1 , subject + (ก็ /gâw/)* + verb
*ก็ gâw is optional
For example;
If I am tired, I go to sleep.
ถ้า ฉัน เหนื่อย ฉัน นอน /tâa chán nùeai, chán nawn/
If I am not feeling well, I go to see a doctor.
ถ้า ฉัน ไม่ สบาย ฉัน ไป หา หมอ /tâa chán mâi sà-baai, chán jà bpai hăa măw/
If I have enough money, I will buy a new phone.
ถ้าฉันมีเงินพอ ฉันจะซื้อโทรศัพท์ใหม่
/tâa chán mii ngern paw, chán jà súe too-rá-sàp mài/
If I am free tonight, I will go party.
ถ้าฉันว่างคืนนี้ ฉันจะไปปาร์ตี้
/tâa chán wâang kuen-níi, chán jà bpai bpaa-dtîi/
If I won the lottery, I would travel around the world.
ถ้าฉันถูกล็อตเตอรี่ ฉันจะไปเที่ยวรอบโลก
/tâa chán tùuk lottery, chán jà bpai-tîao râwp look/
If I were you, I would break up with him.
ถ้าฉันเป็นคุณ ฉันจะเลิกกับเขา
/tâa chán bpen kun, chán jà lêrk gàp káo/
