The Sanctuary of Truth

Last weekend I wanted to get away from Bangkok so I decided to go to Pattaya because it is only 1.5 hours away from Bangkok. Pattaya is very famous for its nightlife but this doesn’t mean that you have nowhere to go during the day. Pattaya has many daytime attractions. I searched in the internet and found suggestion about The Sanctuary of Truth. I must admit it with you that I am a Thai living in Thailand, but I never heard of this sanctuary before. I am glad I went there I felt like I discovered a hidden gem.

The Sanctuary of Truth or Thai name is ปราสาทสัจธรรม [Bpraa saat Satjatam] is a gigantic wooden construction which covers the area of more than two rais. The top point of the building is about 105 meters high. It was constructed to withstand the wind and sunshine on the seashore at Rachvate Cape in Soi Naklea 12 in North Pattaya.

The Sanctury of Truth has been under construction for over 30 years. It will take about 10 more years to finish its construction. The reason that it takes so long is that building a wooden structure as large and detailed as this, has to go through many processes. It never finish because there always the maintaining parts that has already been done, so the process is finishing it and maintaining it. You have to see for yourself how large and detailed it is.

The admission fee is 500 Baht, and it is equal for both Thais and foreigners.

The truth that was shown through the Sanctury is the relationship between human beings and the universe, which are the father, the mother, the earth, the sky, the sun, the moon and the stars.
