Sawatdee ka,
Did you know there is The world’s largest solid-gold Buddha image in Bangkok? I have to confess that I have just known about it from my student 2 weeks ago. What a shame! LOL So, I googled the map for the temple’s location and went there to see it with my own eyes last Saturday.
This temple is called วัดไตรมิตรวิทยาราม Wat Traimitr Withayaram. It is on Chareon Grung Road, not far from Hua Lampong MRT station at the end of Chinatown’s Yaowarat Road. This temple houses the extraordinary over- 700-year-old golden Buddha image. The image is 12 feet 5 inches in diameter and has a height of 15 feet 9 inches from the base to the crown, and it weigh approximately 5 tons.
When my taxi stopped in front of the temple, I was impressed by the beauty of the temple. It has just been renovated, so it looks new and the temple has 4 floors with a very beautiful golden Chedi on the rooftop. I would say this is a must see place when you come to visit Bangkok 🙂
The temple is open daily from 8.00 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. with an admission fee of 40 baht. (Of course it is free for Thai people)
Please see below photos of the temple I took. I hope you like them.

Been there. Interesting place. Watch out for juice seller who sells juice for 50 Bahts – very high price for a local juice!
