Politics is a common topic that comes up in conversation. If you want to be an advanced or fluent Thai speaker, then you have to be able to speak about politics at least a little bit.

In this video, we will look at common vocabulary used to discuss current political situation in Thailand. This is a good lesson for expanding your Thai vocabulary list.

  1. ตอนนี้กรุงเทพและหลายจังหวัดในประเทศไทยมีม็อบ

/dtawn-níi grung-têep láe lăai jang-wàt nai bprà-têet tai mii mób/

 

2. ตอนนี้ทุกคนในประเทศไทยให้ความสนใจกับการประท้วง

/dtaw-níi túk kon nai bprà-têet tai hâi kwaam sŏn-jai gàp gaan bprà-túang/

 

3. ผู้ประท้วงส่วนใหญ่เป็นเด็กและเยาวชน

/pûu bprà-túang sùan-yài bpen dèk láe yao-wá-chon/

 

4. ผู้ประท้วงมีข้อเรียกร้อง 3 อย่าง

/ pûu bprà-túang mii kâw rîak-ráwng săam yàang/

 

5. ผู้ประท้วงอยากให้นายกลาออก

The protestor want the prime minister to resign.

VOABULARY:

ประท้วง /bprà-túang/ = to protest

การประท้วง /gaan bprà-túang/ = protest (n.)

ข้อเรียกร้อง /kâw rîak-ráwng/ = requirement

นายกรัฐมนตรี /naa-yók rát-tá-mon-dtrii/ = Prime minister

ประชาธิปไตย /bprà-chaa-típ-bpà-dtai/ = Democracy

รัฐธรรมนูญ /rát-tá-tam-má-nuun/ = constitution

อยากให้ /yàak hâi/ = want someone do something

ลาออก /laa-àwk/ = resign
