Particles come naturally to native Thai speakers and they don’t really think too much about them. In fact, particles can completely change the mood and the meaning of a sentence, therefore they are very useful words to be aware of. We call these particles “magic words”.
Example:
อะไร /à-rai/ means “what?”
If you add particle “นะ /ná/” , it changes the meaning to “What was that?”
If you add particle ” วะ /wá/“, , it changes the meaning to “What the hell?”
