The full pattern for describing an action that is happening as you speak is:
กำลัง gam-lang + do something + อยู่ yùu

It is the exception for the phrase “I am on my way”, it is a fixed phrase “กำลังไป /gam-lang bpai/”, we don’t say กำลังไปอยู่ gam-lang bpai yùu
