We filmed this lesson when we went on a trip to the Surin island together. We explained a common Thai joke as well as a new question word that you might never heard of before.
I hope you enjoy this video and find it useful.

I LOVE your videos! I’ve been in Thailand for a year now and I think I’ve learned more Thai in 2 days than I have all year! I do have one question? Which is appropriate to say, Can you speak Thai? Kun puut pa saa Thai “Dai Mai” or Bpen Mai?
Thank you for your kind message. I am happy to hear that you found our lessons useful in your Thai learning.
As for the question ‘can you speak Thai?’ “Kun pûut paa-săa thai dâai-mái?” is more common to use.
Thank you so much for all video you posted. They are so useful & practical for me to learn Thai easily!
Sawatdee ka Justin, thank you for visiting my website. I am happy to hear that you find my videos useful in your Thai learning. Hope you continue to follow my lessons in the future as well.
Hello! I was wondering what the word คุร means when you place it before a name? You have written:
คุรมด
Thank you!
Sawatdee ka Sarah, ครู means ‘teacher’.
Please notice that the vowel is put under “ร”.
So nice to see you again .Pretty lesson very useful.
Khoob khun khrab.
Thank you for watching our video. Glad to hear that you find it useful.
Hi. Thanks for interesting lesson. But It was really hard to read subtitles in video because white font on white background. Can I change this manually somehow?
Great video (as always) What did Kru Pear say for WWW near the end? sounded like wuh wuh wuh
เสื้อชูชีพ is a ‘life’ jacket, not a live jacket.
Thank you. Very good lesson.
(By the way, it is life jacket, with an f)
What about if you did not hear what the person said, and you’re wondering if they can snorkel or scuba-dive? For instance, ‘Sorry, I didn’t hear what you said. Can you snorkel or can you scuba-dive?’
Sawatdee ka Andy,
Thank you for your question.
Can you snorkel or can you scuba-dive?’ in Thai structure would be “you can snorkel OR you can scuba-dive?” คุณดำน้ำตื้นเป็นหรือดำน้ำลึกเป็นนะ kun dan-náam dtûen bpen “rŭe” dam-náam lúek bpen ná?
“นะ ná” particle is put after the question to ask the person to repeat what they just said.
Clear and usefull,kop kun kaa
Thank you for watching and your positive feedback. kop kun ka:)
Very cool that you play the piano (assuming that wasn’t part of the act) – I do too. I am happy for you that your teaching venture seems to be going so well!
Thank you for your kind words. I did play piano when I was a little girl.
Very good and useful,
Thank you for watching our video. I am happy to hear that you found it useful.
Thank you Kru Mod and Kru Pear. But how do I ask my girlfriend if she wants to go swmming with me?
Do you always go snorkeling wearing such nice clothes? 5555+
You can ask her “อยากไปว่ายน้ำกับผมมั้ย yàak bpai wâai-náam gàp pŏm mái?”
(อยาก yàak = want, wâai-náam = swim, gàp = with, pŏm = me, mái? = question word used to form a yes/no question).
We usually wear swimming suit, but don’t want to be inappropriate in the language video.
ขอบคุณครูมด
