Loi Kratong Song Lyrics

Friday November 15, 2013 by Mod 12 Comments

This week is the week of Loy Krathong day, this year it falls on Nov 17th, 2013. (If you are not sure what this festival is, click here to learn more about it) I have been hearing the Loy Krathong song everywhere I go and also in the local TV. It is kind of catchy so I have this song playing in my head over and over. In case you would like to sing along, here are the lyrics.

Wan-pen duean sìp-sŏng , náam nong dtem dtà-lìng

The full-moon day (of) the twelfth month, as water fills to the banks

Rao tang-lăai chaai yĭng sà-nuk gan jing wan loi grà-tong

We all both men and women are having fun in Loi Krathong day

loi loi grà-tong, loi loi grà-tong

float float the Krathongs, float float the Krathongs

loi grà-tong gan láew,kŏr chern nóng gâew òrk maa ram-wong

We have already floated the Krathong already, I would like to ask you (beloved younger lady) to come out and dance (Thai folk dance)

ram-wong wan loi grà-tong, ram-wong wan loi grà-tong

dance in the Loi Krathong day, dance in the Loi Krathong day

bun jà sòng hâi rao sùk-jai

making merit will give us happiness

The Loy Krathong song in English

There is also English version which has slighly different lyrics to the Thai Loi Krathong song.

Hope you enjoy singing and dancing in this beautiful celebration:)

This song is cool, but the lyrics is hard to memorize, and also those complicated alphabets. Because we need to memorize the song, and the lyrics here is different from the copy form our teacher. So, please add the version of the lyrics of the song with the non-complicated basic a-z alphabet. I greatly appreciate your response.

Thank you for your comment. I am not sure how you would like the song lyrics to be shown. You meant only the Thai language and the English translation?

This song has been performed many times by tens of singers if not more. I’m sorry I don’t know who are the singers of this version. It is done by Tourism Authority of Thailand.
