HOW MANY?

Pattern : noun + กี่ gìi + classifier

Example: 

How many shirts?

เสื้อกี่ตัว  sûea gìi dtua?

*’dtua’ is the classifier for clothes

 

ผมมีหนังสือสามเล่ม pŏm mii [ năng-sŭe 3 lêm ] I have three books.

คุณมีหนังสือกี่เล่ม     kun mii [năng-sŭe gìi lêm ] How many books do you have?
คุณมีเพื่อนคนไทยกี่คน kun mii [pûean kon tai gìi kon]  How many Thai friends do you have?
ผมมีเพื่อนคนไทยยี่สิบคน pŏm mii [pûean kon tai 20 kon]  I have 20 Thai friends.
แม่มีแมวกี่ตัว mâe mii [maew gìi dtua] How many cats does she have?
เขามีแมวห้าสิบตัว káo mii [maew 50 dtua] She has 50 cats.

 

คุณซื้อรองเท้ากี่คู่ kun súe roong-táao gìi kûu How many shoes did you buy?

    What is the classifier for house for example ” Pom mee horng neung horng ” it is correct krup.

      Sawatdee ka,
      House in Thai is บ้าน baan (falling tone), the classifier for house is หลัง lang (rising tone)

      I have two houses ผมมีบ้านสองหลัง pom mii baan sawng lang.

      ห้อง horng means ‘room’ na ka : )
